Description
READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT: This image was created using some commercially available 3D content, so make sure you read the description before you congratulate me for some part I didn't do myself.
Patterns of light and darkness create the infinite depth of the game of Go, a fascinating strategy game that has been played for more than 2500 years. The game shown on the board is Honinbo Shusaku vs Inoue Matsumoto, played in 1852.
A little picture for the monthly Dreamlight Club contest. Normally there is a whole month to create our picture but I started the evening before the deadline so it was a speed contest for me
Scene created with DAZ Studio 2.3 and Cinema 4D R10. Rendered in Cinema 4D and composited in Photoshop CS2. Time taken: ~11 hours.
Created by me: the board, pieces and bowls of the Go game
Not created by me: Hiro 4 (the character), Hiro 4 Realistic Textures, Austin Hair, Urbane (pants), Basic Wear for M4 (T-Shirt) all available from DAZ 3D and parts from 'Japanese 70s House' available from Renderosity.
EDIT: Thanks to ~monoceros01 for noticing I had forgotten to activate shadow casting on one light. (That's what you get when you render at 6am).
